German Style letter steel stamps use the DIN 1451 font in chrome-vanadium steel (CRV/6150), face-hardened to 58–62 HRC.
Available in standard, GL economy and reversed styles — the GL grade uses a simplified process (no end-tempering, no edge chamfer) at a more affordable price.
The German DIN 1451 face is narrower than the English style. Character heights run from 1.5mm to 19.0mm; the standard YC614 line offers 13 sizes with shanks from 6.35mm to 19.05mm. The reversed YC617 stamps a mirror image, for work that will later be transferred or used as a mold so the finished part reads the right way round.
