Dot steel stamps use a dot-matrix (low-stress) character face that reduces workpiece distortion and stress concentration when marking — ideal for thin and precision parts.
Available in round dot and sharp dot, in both letters and numbers, in chrome-vanadium steel (CRV/6150) hardened to 58–62 HRC.
Dot-formed characters spread the impact and put less stress on the workpiece, which suits thinner parts and marks that should not be cut deep; solid-line characters read more clearly and suit general marking. Character heights run from 3.0mm to 12.0mm, with shanks from 9.52mm upward — thicker than a solid-line stamp of the same height. Round-dot YC609 leaves a softer mark; sharp-dot YC609B leaves a deeper, higher-contrast one. On sheet under 3mm, back the work with a flat, hard steel anvil and build the blow up in stages.
